    Hello, I am trying to avoid the load of Google Fonts into my Waipoua installation. I have already readen the following guide https://www.elmastudio.de/en/how-to-load-google-fonts-locally/ and created the folder with the relevant fonts used by Waipoua theme.

    What I am actually missing is the usage of the Loco Translator plugin:

    1. I have already an it_IT.po/mo file which I created when I translated the theme

    2. Even if I try to use the plugin to "create a new translation" for Waipoua, I cannot find PT Sans or Oswald keywords.

    How can I complete the job? Should I go the old/hard way of locating the relevant php code into functions.php and delete it? [copying the file into my child theme folder].

    Thanks,

    Emanuele

    Hi Emanuele,

    I'm sorry but this actually doesn't work with Waipoua. Please add the following code to your child theme's functions.php:

    function unload_waipoua_fonts() {
                        wp_dequeue_style( 'googleFonts');
                 }
    add_action('wp_print_styles', 'unload_waipoua_fonts', 11);

    Best,
    Marc
